Hello! I am Dr. Laima Spokevičiūtė, an Assistant Professor at Cardiff University. My academic research focuses on the areas of banking, bank resolutions, and corporate governance. I hold a PhD in Finance from Leeds University Business School, where my research concentrated on "The Determinants of Bank Failures in Normal and Crisis Times and the Resolution of Failed Banks." I have a strong background in banking regulation, supervision, and resolution, and my work aims to contribute to understanding the dynamics of financial distress and how institutions can better manage crisis situations.
Before joining Cardiff University, I worked in various academic roles and contributed to a range of projects related to financial stability and banking crises.
